Best Music to Closing Credits

Most of us head out or switch channels when the closing credits of a film or tv show appear but over the years, some musical gems have been selected to wrap things up. With my excitement rising by the day in anticipation of seeing the new Entourage Movie, I remember the series' finale closing scene and credits which featured Led Zeppelin''s "Going To California". Musically, from the acoustic guitar and harmonies, to the lyrics, this beautiful track perfectly closed a chapter on one of HBO's jewel's. As a reminder, here is a clip of those final moments....

Inspired to think of other great musical choices to rap film's up, I've listed a few. By no means exhaustive,  feel free to add your comments and suggestions:

  • Die Hard: Vaughn Monroe "Let It Snow"

  • Monty Python's Life of Brian: "Always Look On The Bright Side of Life"

  • Breakfast Club: Simple Minds "Don't You Forget About Me"

  • Ferris Bueller's Day Off: Yellow "Oh Yeah"

  • Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind: Beck "Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometimes"

  • Platoon: Samuel Barber "Adagio for Strings"
